About the Quiz

- Chapter (Regional) Round – winners progress to compete against other Credit Unions
- National Final – top teams from across Ireland compete for the title
Questions span a wide range of topics, including general knowledge, history, geography, science, literature, sport, music, and popular culture. There’s something for every type of thinker!
Key Rules & Notes for Participants
Here are some important points adapted from the ILCU’s official Schools Quiz guidelines:
✔ Team Consistency
Once a team is registered, the same four pupils must participate in all rounds. Substitutions are normally only allowed in exceptional circumstances and must be approved.
✔ No Electronic Devices
Mobile phones, smartwatches, tablets, or other electronic devices are not allowed at the quiz tables. Any device found in use will result in disqualification.
✔ Fair Play
Prompting, additional help from the audience, or any other form of assistance will lead to penalties or disqualification. The Quiz Adjudicator’s decision is final — especially in tie-break situations.
✔ Tie-Breakers
If teams end up level, tie-breaker questions may be used, depending on the stage of the competition.
